Can't Live Without It
Franky's POV
I yawned and stretched as I got up from my resting place, snuggled against Silva. I glanced to the sky above gauging it to be around six in the morning. My eyes travelled around the den site to see most of the pack still in various states of sleep. Rizzoli was already gone, probably to indulge Jane's need to be fawned over by Maura as Swan was still curled up with Arizona

When we got to the Local Precinct, Shannon was already sitting on the stairs waiting for Stella and with quick good byes the two went off and I headed inside. I took the two flights of stairs two at a time and jogged into the Legal Aid office. Only two people were in the office but I could see at least three other lots of supplies already dumped on desks around the room, Probably off to get morning coffee. I headed to my desk and dumped my stuff before draping my blazer over my chair, setting up my laptop and sitting down to get working. I was able to get everything in order and get together all the documents I would need intime for my first client.
Half an hour later and I was back at my desk, feet up on the hard wood, playing catch with a tennis ball and the wall to my right as I waited for my next client to arrive.
"Oi, Dagostino! Your turn!" I heard from beind me and I caught the tennis ball before glancing over my shoulder.
"Huh?" I voiced my confusion as my collige made his way across the room to his desk - ajacent from mine - where he sat down.
"New head of legal aid." He said as if it was obvious and my brain suddenly clicked.
"Crap." I dropped my legs to the floor and stood up, quickly I straightened the papers on my desk which were messed by my boots before pulling on my blazer and scruffing my hair. "How do I look?" I asked and I grinned at the fainy blush on his cheeks, he spun on his chair to look down at his work.
"You've got the best record out of all of us, I doubt your looks will matter much." He said as he began typing and I smiled before heading towards the office.
"Wish me luck!" I called over my shoulder and I chuckled when he didn't respond.
I wasn't sure what to expect as I walked down the hall and opened the door to my new boss' office but this was the furthest from my mind. I thought maybe some stick-up-the-ass business woman or maybe a snooby business man, but now I sat before a nice alternative. The interview went on for twenty boring minutes but the upside was - despite the sling encasing her left arm - I had a nice view, which lead to me loosing track of the conversation, but all in all as I got up to leave her office I felt I passed her inspection.
Four clients, a lost tennis ball and a few games of paper hoops later found me filing the documents for my last client. I stretched after tucking them into my deskdraw as I glanced around the office. Like usual I was the last one in. I checked in with Emma, who was out on a case and despite the injuries she sustained - Fractured wrist, three broken ribs and alot of brusing - Jane was taging along. I was about to see if Stella was back from patrol when I heard voices coming up the hall.
"Which way is it?" The first voice asked quietly and It was closely followed by the second who sounded annoyed.
"I don't know, I've never been to this part of the building before. Why did she have to get a job in Legal Aid, she's more qualified then that."
"You know why, if she got a job she is fully qualified for she would have to leave Wentworth." The first replied, not even fazed by the seconds snippy tone.
When two familiar females passed the office door, I slipped my phone into my pocket and quickly crossed the room before looking out into the hallway. I was confused by their presence here in Legal Aid and I chuckled at how lost they looked.
"Doctor Alexander, Sargent Henry." I called out and they turned around.
"Dagostino." Shannon acknowledged and Maura nodded slightly.
"Do you two need any help, It's odd that your in this section?" I asked with a grin and what looked like relief crossed Shannon's eyes.
"Yeah, we are picking someone up. Got directions to the Head of Legal Aid?" She replied, her tone much lighter then before.
"End of the hall, two doors to the right." I instructed and Shannon nodded.
"Thankyou." Maura appraised and I watched as they hurried down the hall and around the corner.
I vaguely wondered what they wanted with Miss Davidson as I headed back to my desk. I straightened up the surface, before grabbing my blazer from the back of my desk chair and slipping it on. Grabbing my keys and wallet, I gave my desk a once over to make sure everything was good and headed towards the elevator. I was about to enter the hallway when I heard Maura and Shannon speaking with a third voice which I assumed was Miss Davidson, I'm not one for eaves-dropping but curiosity wins out.
"I know it's your new job and you hate taking days off and whatnot but you really shouldn't be here." Shannon's voiced with concern and I faintly heard my boss sigh.
"She's right Erica, you know you shouldn't be in control for now." Maura added and I was confused, I mean she only had a sling on her arm.
"Stop your concern, we have agreed that I am well enough to be here." Erica responded sternly. Why are you two here anyway, Shannon your supose to be on patrol and Maura don't you have a case?"
"Well yes... both are true but my body isn't going anywhere." Maura responded.
"And Stella said she has a date so we came back early." Shannon finished and I ducked to the side as the three of them passed the office door.
I completely understood their concern now as I took in my new boss. She had her good arm slung over Shannon's shoulders and was leaning on Maura who was supporting her around the waist. Her right leg was strapped to a makeshift splint (a stick) and her business pants hid the extent of the injury. I waited afew moments before pulling my phone from my pocket and slipping into the hallway.
"Why aren't Sara and Emilie here?" Erica asked looking to Maura.
"Emilie said her and Doctor Robbins had a heavy workload today and Sara is stuck in a meeting with the principal." She responded as they got to the elevator.
They know Arizona aswell? Maura chuckled when Shannon impatiently began hitting the down button. I stayed back out of site while observing their playful banter as they waited for the elevator. I waited till they got on the elevator and the doors closed to head in the direction of the stairs. I took my time down the two flights of stairs and when I got to the bottom floor it was intime to see Maura, Shannon and Erica go though the buildings front doors. I headed for the doors and took in a deep breathe of fresh air once outside. I started down the steps and stopped when I felt something crunch beneath my boot. Looking down I noticed a familiar stick and I bent down to pick it up, before looking over it with confusion. I looked around for my injured boss and my friends work partners and just caught a glimpse of what I could sware was a tail ducking into an alleyway four buildings down. I reined in my curiosity and headed home to get in some reading before I let Franky take over.
