You're Safe With Me
"-she is in grave danger, but if I keep her at arm’s length, or even further away then she is Safe."
Once a year, on the 30th rising of the July Moon, the moon rises a blood red colour. During this small window of time is when the new generation of Temporal wolves are born, thus this day is called the Temporal Moon. Instead of ageing to full maturity within 24 months like their common counterparts, Temporal wolves do not reach full maturity until twenty-one Temporal Moons, which allows their human skins the necessary years to go through the natural stages of human growth, unhindered. Unlike regular wolves, Temporal Wolves live by a strict routine. They all breed, reproduce and age at the same time. The female Temporal wolves reproductive systems are designed so they can only fall pregnant during the November Moon, this allows their pup/s 8 to 9 months of growth before it is birthed on the night of the Temporal Moon. They are not able to reproduce outside this small window of time, and only once they reach full maturity at the age of twenty-one Temporal Moons. Temporal Wolves, while they can't conceive and birth at this age, reach sexual maturity come eighteen Temporal Moons, at such time they will seek out a mate or begin their search for their evasive Soul Mate. As their eighteenth Temporal Moon approaches, Temporal Wolves will become filled with a heat and tension in their bodies which is released once their births pass through a spike in their scent. After which their body's return to normal. Temporal Wolves are the animal’s equivalent to the human’s President. The Alphas of the pack represent the nation alongside the Humans President, the Alpha Female taking care of the political side and the Alpha Male taking care of the physical side, while the rest of the pack governs the individual states within the packs nation. At one time there was a pack of Temporal Wolves in each nation, speaking for the wild with no voice. Now all that remains of this great race is four Jadelyn - the Alpha's Daughter, Beckett - the Beta's Son, Caterina - the Sentry's Kin and Victoria - the Rogue's Offspring, forced to live among the humans due to a threat to their lives and their species.
The threat being one of their own.

Chapter 1
Victoria Vega
“Beckett, stop!” I pant as we neared the edge of the forest. “If we go any further we will be entering the human's territory.”
“That's the idea!” He yelled back and I yelped.
"What!" I dug my claws into the soft dirt beneath me and skidded to a stop just before crossing the border between our territory and the humans land. Beckett turned to look at me, a stern expression on his face.
"Your father told Caterina and I that we had to get you to safety. Alpha explained that under the guise of our human skins we will be able to blend in with the two-legs. Hidden in plain site as Latoiya is not aware of the appearance of our human skins." He explained, he was just past the border into the humans territory waiting for us to follow. I sighed and went to move forward to follow when I heard him whine. I looked up and frowned at the distressed look in his eyes as he looked behind us. "Where's Caterina?" He asked and I followed his gaze behind me but the Rosen fur of my best friend was nowhere in sight.
"Caterina?" I whispered and a howl broke through the forest, I watched the darkness spreading through the trees hoping she had caught up to us but there was only a slight breeze. I turned away to see Beckett edging back towards the forest, tails twitching. I shouldered him back over the invisible border and he whined.
"We must help her!" He yelled at me and my ears flattened at the pain in his voice.
"Beckett, she must have turned back to distract Latoiya. Let's not waist what little time she has granted us." My voice cracked at the thought of leaving her behind and Beckett looked at me with sadness clouding his usually bright eyes. I couldn't imagine the pain he was in and I went to move to comfort him but he turned away from me and the forest. Despite the distress I had seen in his eyes, after a deep breath his voice steeled over with resolve.
"She is strong. We will see her again." With his final words and a flick of his tails, he trotted off into the humans territory. "Come on, It's after sundown, there shouldn't be many humans out." Beckett called for me to follow and I glanced back at the forest for a brief moment before running to get slightly ahead of Beckett's mild trot.
We slowed down at we entered the humans settlement. Despite our current situation and having had human skins for the past seventeen Temporal Moons, we were never taught about the humans or any of their... items. Caterina had been slipping off into the human settlement since she was able to explore though so through her we knew what most to everything was called, we had just never seen any of it and were left to match words to the humans things. The ground beneath our paws was dark and hard, Cat had explained to us that the black ground was not for walking so Beckett and I hoped up onto the lighter hard paths which bordered the dark ground. The lighter hard paths split through patches of grass on either side and lead towards the human dens, or homes as the humans call them. Some had light shining from within their depths while others were dark. There were stray trees and bushes in most of the 'yards' and some of even had small walls around them, which humans refer to as fences. Large metal contraptions lined the streets, whilst others lay behind the fences. Cat had said that humans prefered to use the 'Cars' on the dark road over walking. I felt Beckett jump beside me when a bark sounded from our right. Curious, I approached the fence we were passing and looked over. I was met by vicious barking and immediately my hackles rose as I backed away. Cat explained that some animals were kept by the humans as pets, mainly dogs and cats. Beckett followed my movement and he looked at me with confusion.
"What is it?" He asked and after seeing that the 'pets' couldn't follow us due to the fence, I calmed myself down.
"Two very large dogs, but we are safe. This," I looked over the fence with a sort of relief before glancing back at my Beta. "Fence, prevents them from reaching us." I explained and he nodded, giving the fence a wary look before starting back down the street, I trailed behind him as close as I could without tripping him.
The further into the human territory we moved, the more homes that came into sight. We had moved from a slow walk to a trot, hoping to find somewhere we could safely sleep. I cautiously took in our surroundings as we moved, worried we would be spotted.
"And I thought our pack of sixteen was pushing the limits, there's at least one human in each den and we've passed many." Beckett commented as we turned to follow another 'street'. I grunted in response to his words, Caterina had explained that each human den could contain up to five humans or even more, that's alot of humans... After afew moments I was sure we were walking in circles as I had recognized one of the cars we passed, but I was content to just keep moving. The longer we took without being spotted, the later it got and the later it got, the less chance we had of being spotted by the humans, besides Beckett wasn't complaining. I lowered my nose to the ground as we turned down another street. I wanted to check if I could catch our scents to see if we had already come down this path, but my nose scraped against something small, cold and hard and I jolted back in shock. I looked down at the small gold band and sniffed, it's scent sent a shiver down my spine and a giddy feeling took over my insides. I couldn't hold in the happy whine and Beckett looked at me strangely. "Are you alright?" He asked me with confusion laced in worry and I just smiled lopsidedly at him, the scent made me feel giddy. He raised his brow at me but didn't say anything and continued off down the path. I glanced back down at the band for a moment and picked the cold metal up. I slipped the thin band through a broken notch on my metal chain so I wouldn't loose it, then I ran to get ahead of Beckett, before returning to a trot down the path, with my nose to the ground again.
We had barely passed another ten houses when I heard Beckett yell from behind me.
"Jadelyn!" Confused by the fear I heard in his voice, I stopped moving and looked behind me to see what was wrong but Beckett had vanished. I whined softly at being left alone and glanced around to see if he had moved somewhere else. The other side of the road was empty and as I turned to look ahead of me I froze. Only a few meters before me, was a teenager. There was no one else around but her lips moved to form the humans language. Her voice had a soothing effect on me and I sat down, watching her with curiosity.
"Twelve stitches sounds pretty bad, how long till you find out if your sight will come back?" She asked, she was stretching out her right arm as she glanced around and she froze when her eyes met mine. A silence drifted between us and I could hear another voice faintly calling out the name Tori. The teen blinked at me a few times before speaking again, her eyes never leaving mine. "Cat, I think there is a wolf sitting beside me..." Her voice was soft and confused but not scared, the faint voice spoke again and the teen tilted her head slightly. "I mean, there is a huge dog, with pointed ears, large claws and a tail sitting a few meters from me." She clarified and at the voice's next question the girl chuckled. "No, I don't think I'm crazy." She said before she knelt down and slowly reached out her right hand towards me, her left was still curled to her ear. I growled lightly at the gesture but she didn't seem afraid, she just slightly jostled the limb as invitation. Father had always told us that we used to be very close to the humans but they turned on us and we we're driven into the forests. This girl, was reaching out without anger in her gesture, perhaps not all humans were bad. Curiosity getting the better of me, I took a step forward and lightly touched my nose to the palm of her hand. At the contact, the scent from earlier surrounded me and everything faded from my awareness. I couldn't hear her words or even see her, I could only feel the touch of her hand against me. She didn't move the limb, allowing me to examine it at my own pace. I sniffed at the palm curiously and I couldn't resist licking at the soft skin. Through my haze I faintly heard the girl chuckle, before she shifted her hand away from my tongue to lightly stroke me between the ears. In a calm motion, her hand moved down my neck, beneath my chain and up to scratch at my chin. I whined happily at the feeling and my eyes closed as my ears cocked back. Faintly I heard a clinck and her hand retracted from me. I opened my eyes with a soft whine to see her picking up the small band that had fell from my chain while she was patting me. I sniffed at it lightly in her hand before licking at her fingers.
“That's the idea!” He yelled back and I yelped.
"What!" I dug my claws into the soft dirt beneath me and skidded to a stop just before crossing the border between our territory and the humans land. Beckett turned to look at me, a stern expression on his face.

I sniffed at it lightly in her hand before licking at her fingers.
"You brought this back to me..." She murmered as her thumb lightly brushed over the band as if it was sacred. I crooned at her words and she slipped the band into her pocket before she began patting me again. With the contact my senses were over run again but I tried to refocus my mind through the pleasure running through my body and I could just make out what the teen was saying.
"She must have found my Grandmother's ring and tracked it back to me using my scent." She chuckled and the faint voice returned again. "It's strange though, I've never seen a wolf with two tails before, or with this colour of fur." She said as she lowered her hand to scratch at my chest. I rolled onto my back and growled happily as she started stroking the fur on my stomach. "She's black with the most beautiful green and blue markings." She commented and I felt my lip twitch up into a smile. A noise of shock followed by more muffled words sounded before the teen looked confused, she glanced around before looking back down at me. "No, I think she's on her own." Just as the words left her lips, I heard a whistle and shot to my feet. Untangling myself from her hand, I looked behind me to see what had made the noise. Another teenager, a male, was walking towards us and I felt my body instinctively move before the girl, growling at the intruder. The soft hand returned to between my ears and my growl softened slightly. "Cat, I need to go but don't worry. You can see her when you come over tomorrow." I heard the teen say and from the corner of my eye, I saw her lower a black contraption from her ear before stuffing it in her pocket. She then shifted to wrap her arms around my neck as she continued to pet me.
"Jadelyn, there you are." The male teen spoke and my growl faded as my tails started wagging, Beckett.
"Is she yours?" The girl asked, sadness tingeing her voice and I licked her chin softly to try and cheer her up.
"I don't own her persay..." Beckett responded, watching the girl with curiosity as she continued to hold onto me. He shook his head after a moment of silence and held out his hand. "My name is Beck Oliver. It's nice to meet you..." Beck left the sentence open for the girls name.
"Victoria Vega, but everyone just calls me Tori." The teen filled in as she leaned closer and shook his hand. A surprised look crossed his eyes as he caught her scent and they immediately found mine. I could only smile at his silent question as I nuzzled up into Tori's neck to get her attention back to patting me, she chuckled and her hand returned to scratching at my neck. Beck released a sigh before rubbing lightly at the bridge of my nose.
"Come on Jadelyn, that alley is calling our name." He rummaged around in the pocket in his pants and pulled out a scrunched up ball of paper and a few silver coins. "Perhaps we can get a couple of slices of bread tonight, huh girl?" His eyes clouded over slightly as he thought of what to say next before a smile took over his face and he looked to Tori. "Thankyou for catching her for me, she found a squirrel at the park and figured it was better then no food at all, it must have gotten away from her." He rubbed at the back of his neck with an awkward laugh. "We must really get going now though, it's late and I'm sure you need to be getting inside." He gestured towards her den before patting his leg for me to follow. I whined as he started off down the path and went to follow but the arms around my neck tightened.
"Wait!" Tori called out and Beck stopped to see what it was she wanted, I looked up at her confused and she smiled softly as she loosened her hold on me to stand up. "I can't possibly let you spend the night in an alleyway. Why don't you come inside?" She gestured to her den and I yipped, nuzzling happily into her leg.
"We wouldn't want to intrude." Beck responded taking a cautious step backwards and Tori just chuckled as she reached down to pat me behind my ear.
"Your not intruding at all and your girl seems happy about it so it's quite alright." She said before scratching me once more and heading up the driveway. I looked back to make sure Beck was following, before I ran through the entrance once Tori had moved the wooden block. I was overwhelmed, mingled with others, Tori's scent was all over the den and it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Tori and Beck came into the room and Tori led him up the blocks on her left. I followed closely behind, careful not to trip them or fall myself. The moment we reached the top, I could tell which room belonged to Tori and I ducked around the slightly ajar block. Her mini-den was full of stuff I didn't recognise and the moment my paws touched her fuzzy carpet I rolled onto my back. Tori smiled at me when they entered the room and I watched them, upside down as she moved to sit on her bed. "My mother and father are away on business for the week and my sister won't be back until Monday so you are free to stay for a couple of nights if you need it." She explained and I jumped up on her bed, before laying down flush against her side. She started patting me and again I released a joyful whine.
"Thankyou for the offer Tori, it is nice to not be outside for once." He smiled and I yipped in agreement.
"We have a spare room, it's directly across the hall from here and before they left, Mother cooked dinner for me and my sister, but she's not here so there is still plenty left. Are you hungry?" Tori asked looking over at Beck, who had seated himself on a stump beside the hole in Tori's wall. Beck's eyes flitted to me before returning to Tori. Noticing the subtle action Tori chuckled. "And don't worry, I'm sure we will have something in the kitchen for Jadelyn as well." Tori smiled, she ruffled the fur around my neck before getting up and heading for the door. I jumped down off the bed and both Beck and I followed her back down the stairs and into the kitchen. I jumped up onto one of the stumps by the high ground and yelped as my body was spun around. My claws dug into the soft material of the stump beneath me to stop myself from falling. Tori chuckled at my actions before glancing back at Beck. "Take a seat, I'll grab the food." She said before moving over to the large white box and looking inside. Beck glanced warily at the 'seat', and I smiled back. After it stopped spinning the seat worked pretty well. He moved over and gingerly sat on the seat beside me, it swivelled slightly but otherwise didn't move. Silence fell between us as Tori moved about the kitchen. Beck glanced down at me and nudged me in the shoulder.
"So Tori we're kinda new to the area, could I possibly bother you with a tour?" Beck asked and Tori stopped her movements, very subtly for a moment before slowing her hands as she continued cooking.
"Jadelyn will not be joining us?" She asked and Beck looked at her strangely before looking down at me.
"No, Jadelyn tends to head out into the forest during daylight hours."
"Oh..." Tori responded before her movements sped up again, "I... I'm not sure, I'm meeting up with my friend Caterina tomorrow..." She responded with a slight stutter to her voice. I looked at her confused before glancing back at Beck. 'She is afraid to be alone with him, yet she was ok when he showed up outside. Does that mean I make her feel safe, even in the presence of a stranger?' I noticed a shadow cross his eyes before he looked at Tori with sad eyes.
"Caterina Valentine?" He asked and Tori spun around with a large grin on her face.
"Yeah, you know her?" She asked interested and my muzzle twitched at the faint blush that crossed Beck's human skin.
"I do, we are pretty close. Another friend of mine - Jade is staying with her. She came here with me and Jadelyn." Beck explained and I hummed my approval of his words, knowing he had just given me my human identity. Tori nodded at his words, before turning back to the cooking.
"Cat has mentioned her two friends Beck Oliver and Jade... West?" Tori questioned looking over her shoulder at Beck for confirmation and he just nodded, seems Caterina has already set this up for us. "I've been waiting to meet you both, Cat speaks very highly of the both of you." Tori said and I saw Beck's eyes lighten up.
"What did she say?" He asks with the curiosity of a pup exploring for the first time.
"Personally I think she likes you, she said that you were one of the sweetest guys she had ever interacted with, discluding her fathers, Jade on the other hand..." At Tori's words, my ears perked. "She said that Jade can be very cold and distant, she's quite demanding and, what was the word... I think she said 'Gank?'" Tori didn't seem to noticed the low growl that had formed in my chest as my Alpha instincts too insult to my lower packmates words because she kept talking. "But she also said that once you get past that icy front and gain her trust, that she is the most loyal, soft and caring person and that Cat was proud to be called her friend..." Tori finished and my growl instantly stopped to be replaced by a goofy grin that crossed my muzzle, Cat was one of the most honest wolves I know, she will tell it to you straight even if it hurts your feelings cause she knows that without knowing one can't fix what is wrong, Beck nudged me with a smile and I licked his chin before he shoved me away slightly with a chuckle. Our eyes met and I frowned at the sly look that crossed his face.
"You seem... Interested in her." He said and a shocked look crossed my face at the soft smile that twitched at Tori's lips.
"I am..." She responded softly, looking up at Beck.
"She's single." He stated with a wink and Tori blushed brightly at the implication.
"You misunderstand, I have a boyfriend." Tori defended quickly with upraised hands before smiling. "She just... Intrigues me."
Beck smiled at the admission and although saddened by her boyfriend I smiled aswell, at the very least we could still be friends.
"Well I think you will like her a lot, just don't be put off by her cold demeanour, she really is a kind person behind her abused front, you just have to put forth a little effort and show her you mean no harm." Beck explained tentatively, making sure I followed so I could create my Human's personality for tomorrow's meeting.
"Alright..." Tori responded quietly before she turned to us with two plates, she placed one before Beck and the other before me and slightly to my left. I wasn't sure if it was for me or her so I leaned towards it, allowing my jaw to lower slightly showing my intentions with my eyes on her. At her nod of approval I started eating, practically inhaling the food it was so good. Beck ate beside me in a more decent manner as he and Tori talked about random stuff I cared not to know. When I finished I took a rather big yawn and lay my head on the bench beside my plate and waited for Beck to finish. Tori took my plate with a pat to my head and started washing it while Beck finished his meal, she then took his plate and once it was washed she turned back to us.
"Would you like to take a shower before heading to bed?" She asked and Beck shook his head.
"If its alright, I'd like to just head to sleep." He responded and Tori nodded.
"Alright, come with me. I will find you something more comfortable to sleep in." She motioned for Beck to follow her before walking away. I nudged Beck with my nose before jumping down from the stool. He smiled at me before following Tori, once they dissapeared from my view I headed up the stairs and into Tori's room. I stopped through the door again to take in the clean room and breathe in my other half's scent before I jumped up onto her bed and lay down at the foot with my head on my paws. It was afew minutes before I heard the soft chatter between Beck and Tori as they came up the stairs, Beck turned off to head to the spare room and Tori stopped in her doorway with a look of shock at me, she glanced back into the hallway where I assume Beck still is before looking back at me. I just twitched my ear in response and a soft smile crossed her lips.
"Good night Beck!" She called out and at Beck's response she shut the door and headed over to her dresser, she opened a couple draws setting the material on the tabletop before she glanced back at me. "No peaking." She said sternly and I placed my paw over my eyes to give her some privacy, only removing it when her scent grew strong telling me she was very near. I whined, hoping she would understand I was asking for permission to look and I heard her soft chuckle. "You can look now." At her words I shifted my paw from my eyes and opened them, greeted by Tori's beautiful browns, I wagged my tail behind me and crooned softly when her hand rested between my ears. "Am I right in assuming you can understand me?" She asked and I licked at her hand enthusiastically, she chuckled before pulling her hand away and getting up from her knelt position, she walked around the bed and pulled back the material before slipping beneath it with a sigh. I watched her from my place as she reached over and turned the light source off. "Goodnight Jadelyn." She muttered sleeply and I shifted moving across the bed to lay down flush against her side with my head on her chest. She shifted an arm to wrap around me so she could pat me, she lightly kissed me on the muzzle before burrying herself deeper into the blanket. It wasn't long till her petting stopped and her arm lay wrapped loosely around me as sleep took over her. I licked her neck lightly before crooning again.
"Goodnight Soul Mate."
Chapter 2
First Interactions
My eyes fluttered open at the sunlight coming in through the window and I jolted at the feel of arms around me and hot breathe against my neck. I looked down to see Tori nestled against me, her head tucked into my neck with her arms around my waist, my very human waist.
"Shit..." I hissed softly as I slowly extracted myself from her grip. I allowed my wolf skin to retake over my appearance then moved off the bed and slunk over to the ajar window before slipping out. As my paws hit the ground I ran around the house, heading for the street and a familiar scent hit my nose, I froze at the voice.
"Jadelyn?" After a moment my eyes shifted to my left where a teen about Tori's age was standing on the front porch about to knock. She was a little shorter the Tori and Beck, her hair was a stained red colour and her left eye had a white patch over it, but there was no mistaking the burgundy of her visible eye. My tail started wagging and I ran over and tackled her to the ground.
"Caterina, you made it! Tori said you were meeting up today so I knew, but it's such a relief seeing you actually here... Beckett is inside now, he told Tori my human form was staying with you, that way we can all hang out today." I explained as I licked at her face while she patted the fur around my neck.
"Alright, but you need to change now, I'm here to wake Tori up. I promise we will talk later." Cat said as she shoved me off and got up, straightening out her clothes. I moved back from her and allowed my human skin to take over and found myself a little taller then Cat, about Tori's height. I glance at my pack mate and she was looking at me with a slack jaw,
"What?" I asked, instinctively crossing my arms across my chest and Cat shook her head, closing her mouth.
"Nothing, just your human is really pretty." Cat explained and I smiled.
"Thankyou, your's is also." I returned with a smile and Cat grinned at me before turning and knocking a fist on the door.

I watched as Tori walked Cat out the front door and lay my head on my paws as I waited for her to return.
"Daddy, your home early. Where's Mum?" I heard Tori ask as she walk through the door carrying a large bag.
"I got called into work tonight so I had to come home early your mum's still..." The man's voice froze as our eyes met and I was surprised to not feel threatened by this man at all.
"Dad?" Tori questioned as she sat the bag down by the chair I was on before turning back to the man. I hopped down to brush against Tori's legs before sitting down, watching him. I felt a sense of familiarity towards him, my tails flicked, curling around Tori's foot and his eyes flickered down to the contact briefly.
"Victoria, why is there a wolf in our home?" He asked softly just as Beck re-entered the room, the man's eyes shot to him and his nostrils flared, eyes shining with recognition before they flitted back to Tori, going neutral again. Before Tori could respond, Beck spoke up.
"I apologise Sir, that would be my fault." He started as he crossed the room to stand beside Tori, looking the man in the eyes, I recognized the familiar sheen in his eyes for what it as, a Beta protecting his Alpha. "You see Sir, she is mine. We got to town last night, yesterday afternoon our... family was ambushed by a... gang in our old home. All but myself, my friend Jade, another friend of ours and Jadelyn were killed Sir. We were separated from both of them whilst escaping but have since learned of both their well-beings. We came here in hopes of being safe, we were ready to find an Ally or bunker down in the park when Jadelyn found a Squirrel and chased it in hopes of catching us some dinner. That's when she ran into Tori who was out the front. Tori kindly offered to let us spend a couple nights, fed us and gave us the spare room to sleep in. Your daughter is a kind, generous person. Thankyou for your hospitality, if you wish us to leave, we will." Beck finished bowing his head towards the superior man despite the fact that he had shifted so he was slightly in front of me and Tori, who I could tell he also viewed as his Alpha now. I shifted closer to Tori when she gasped at Beck's words and the teen knelt down to wrap her arms around me in a hug. The man watched the three of us closely before nodding and throwing out his hand, Beck confused rose his own hand and the man shook it.
"You may both stay un till you get back on your feet." He approved and I released a happy bark when I felt Tori's tight grip slacken somewhat in relief.
"Thankyou Father." She said and the man nodded before collecting his bag and heading for his room.
"I will just pack away my things, then I will be off to work. You three be good ok, and Tori, call your sister. Alert her to your guests, you know how she is..." He said before walking off.

Scars of Betrayal
Here I lay in the basement of my adoptive home, where my adoptive mother is rattling around in the kitchen upstairs and my adoptive father is using the shower after returning home from work. Now before you think I’m being mistreated, I asked to take the basement, it suits all my needs and is cut-off from the rest of the house. I’ve been staring at my phone for over an hour, but the damn thing still hasn’t rung yet. You’re probably confused about what I’m doing in my human skin, you just read all that about my Temporal heritage and that I have or more accurately had a pack and parents of my own. Wondering what happened and where they are? Well I’ll tell you of the scars left behind, driven into my heart by the betrayal of one of our own.
“I once belonged to a proud pack of Temporal Wolves called Makai, my birth father used to tell me stories of our Temporal ancestors and their places in history beside the humans. He would say that one day, Beck and I would be up there beside them aswell, however this was not meant to be.”
Me, Beckket and Caterina, another pack pup, were resting by the waterhole while the others played in and around the cool water. Lyra, Taiyo’s mother was watching over us. It had been another tense day all around and mother had ordered us out of the den. You see, Taiyo’s sister, Fawn went missing two moons ago and my parents have been working hard to find her. Consisted of my parents, the Alphas, Beck’s parents, the Betas,
“Beckett, stop!” I pant as we neared the edge of the forest. “If we go any further we will enter the human’s territory.”
“That’s the idea!” He yelled back and I skidded to a stop just before crossing the forest line had been running for what felt like hours “I’m sure we lost Fawn back among the trees.” He seemed satisfied with my answer, so I sat down, tongue lolled out the side of my mouth as I glanced around. It was then that I noticed we were one short. “Beckett, where’s Caterina?” I asked and I noticed his exhausted eyes widen before he jumped to his feet, spinning around to observe the area. I noticed his eyes dull at the absence of the younger wolf and I stood up, before moving beside him, he was staring mournfully out into the forest. I whined lightly, he may have been my betrothed but I knew of his feelings for Caterina and despite father’s insistence of our betrothal I would have contested that Beckett belonged with Caterina and not with me.
“I’m sure she is ok, Caterina is a strong girl.
"What!" I yelled as my claws dug into the ground just before the forests edge into the human territory.
"Your father told us that we had to get you to a safe place, under our human guises we can blend in and it will be hard for Fawn to find us as no one in the pack has seen our human skins." Beckett explained, he was just past me out in the clearing, waiting. I sighed and went to move forward to follow when I heard him whine. "Where's Caterina?" He asked and I glanced behind me, only to see forest. A howl broke through the silence and Beckett's ears perked. "That's Caterina, quickly we must find her." He rushed before hurrying back past me, I managed to catch his tail and stop him from returning back towards the danger.
"Beckett, it's obvious what she is doing, she is drawing Fawn away from us, giving us time to escape. Let's not waste her sacrifice." Beckett looked at me with sad eyes at the crack in my voice. He may have been in love with her but she was my best friend, my little sister and I'm the alpha, I should be the one drawing Fawn away not her. Despite the distress I could see shining in his eyes, Beckett took a deep breath and turned away from the forest.
"She is strong, we WILL see her again." He said with resolve before trotting off into the human territory. "Come on its after sundown, there shouldn't be any humans out." I glanced behind me once more before running to get slightly ahead of Beckett.
The further into the human territory we went the more human dens that came into sight. We had moved from a slow walk to a trot, hoping to find somewhere we could safely sleep soon. We had been searching for almost 2 hours when I heard Beckett yell from behind me.
"Jadelyn! Hide!" I glanced behind me to see Beck had vanished and just as I turned to see what he was telling me to hide from I slammed my paws into the hard ground. Ahead of me, only afew meters was a teenager, she was talking but I couldn't see anyone else. I sat frozen as I watched her lips move to form the humans language.
"No Cat, I haven't decided on what to do for the showcase yet. I'm thinking a song is best, but I don't know if Andre will be free to do the music." She said before her eyes flitted to me and her voice froze, a silence took over and I could hear another voice faintly calling out the name Tori. The teen blinked at me afew times before speaking again, "Cat... I think there is a wolf sitting beside me..." Her voice was soft and confused but not scared, the voice on the other end spoke again and she tilted her head slightly. "I mean, there is a huge dog, with pointed ears, large claws and a tail sitting afew meters from me." She clarified and at the voices next question the girl chuckled. "No, I don't think I'm crazy." She knelt down and slowly reached out her hand towards me, I growled lightly but she didn't seem afraid, she just slightly jostled the limb as invitation. Father had always told me that we used to be very close to the humans but they turned on us and we we're driven into the forests. This girl, was reaching out to me without anger in her gesture. Curiosity getting the better of me I took a step forward and lightly touched my nose to the palm of her hand, at the contact everything faded from my awareness, I couldn't hear her words or even see her, I could only feel the touch of her hand against me. She didn't move the limb, allowing me to examine it. Her scent sent shivers throughout my body and I couldn't resist licking at the offered hand, through my haze I faintly heard the girl chuckle at my action before shifting her hand and lightly patting me between the ears. She then moved to scratch beneath my chin and along my throat a low growl of joy fell from my throat, my ears cocked back and my eyes closed as I whined happily. I tried to refocus my mind through the pleasure running through my body and I could just make out what the teen was saying.
"It strange though, I've never seen a wolf with two tails before, or with this fur colour." She said and she lowered her hand to scratch at my chest so I rolled onto my back and she started stroking the fur on my stomach. "She's black, with the most beautiful green and blue markings." She commented and I felt my muzzle twitched up into a smile, I heard shock over the phone before the girl looked confused. "No I think she's on her own." She commented just as I heard a whistle, I shot to my feet, untangling from her hand and looked behind me. Another teenager was walking towards us and I felt my body instinctively move before the girl, growling at the intruder. That soft hand returned to between my ears and my growl softened slightly. "Cat, I need to go, but don't worry. You can see her tomorrow." I heard the girl say and saw her press a button on a black contraption before stuffing it in her pocket. She then knelt beside me, wrapping her arms around my neck as she continued to pet me.
"Jadelyn, there you are." The male teen spoke and my growl faded as my tail started wagging, Beckett.
"Is she yours?" The girl asked in a sightly sad voice and I licked her chin softly to try and comfort her.
"I don't own her persay..." Beckett, his eyes watching the the girl with curiosity. He shook his head after a moment of silence and held out his hand. "My name is Beck Oliver. It's nice to meet you..." Beck left the sentence open for the girl to fill in her name.
"Victoria Vega, but everyone just calls me Tori." The girl said as she shook his hand and a surprised look crossed his eyes which immediately shot to mine, I could only nod my head at his silent question. He released a sigh before rubbing lightly at the bridge of my nose.
"Come on Jadelyn, that ally is calling our name." He rummaged around in his pocket and pulled out a scrunched up ball of paper and afew cents. "Perhaps we can get a couple slices of bread tonight, huh girl?" He looked back to Tori with a smile. "Thankyou for catching her for me, she found a squirrel at the park and figured it was better then no food, it must have gotten away though." He rubbed at the back of his neck with an awkward laugh. "We must really get going now though, it's late and I'm sure you have to get inside." He gestured with his head towards the door before starting off down the pathway, I whined but reluctantly followed.
"Wait!" Tori called out and we stopped to see what it was she wanted. "I can't possibly let you spend the night in an alleyway. Why don't you come in?" She gestured to her house and I yipped, excitedly running back to her and nuzzling into her jeans clad leg.
"We wouldn't want to intrude." Beck responded taking a step backwards and Tori just chuckled.
"Your not intruding at all and your wolfeh seems happy about it so it's quite alright." She said before heading up the driveway. I looked back to make sure. Beck was following before I ran through the door just as Tori opened it.
I was overwhelmed, mingled with others, Tori's scent was all over the house and it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Tori and Beck came into the room and Tori led him up the stairs, I followed closely behind, careful not to trip them. The moment we reached the landing i could tell which room belonged to the teen and I ducked around the slightly ajar door. Her den was full of stuff I didn't recognise and the moment my paw touched her fuzzy carpet I rolled onto my back on. Tori giggled at me when they entered the room and I watched them upside down as she moved to sit on her bed.
"My mother and father are away for the weekend and my sister won't be back till Monday so you are free to stay for a couple days if you need it." She explained and I jumped up on her bed, before laying down flush against her side. She started patting me and again I released a joyful growl.
"Thankyou for the offer Tori, it is nice to not be outside for once." He smiled and I yipped in agreement.
"We have a spare room, it's directly across the hall from here and before they left Mother cooked dinner for me and my sister, but she's not here so there is still plenty left. Would you like some?" Tori asked looking over at Beck, who had seated himself on a chair at Tori's desk. Beck's eyes flitted to me before returning to Tori. Noticing the subtle action Tori chuckled. "And don't worry, I'm sure we have something for Jadelyn as well." Tori smiled, she ruffled the fur around my neck before getting up and heading for the door. I jumped down off the bed and both Beck and I followed her back down the stairs and into the kitchen. I jumped up onto one of the chairs by the bench and yelped as my body was spun around. My claws dug into the soft material of the cushion beneath me. Tori chuckled at my action before glancing back at Beck. "Take a seat, I'll grab the food." She said before moving over the white box and looking inside. Beck glanced warily at the chairs, and I smiled back. After it stopped spinning the chair worked pretty well. He moved over and gingerly sat on the chair beside me, it swivelled slightly but otherwise didn't move. Silence fell over us as Tori moved about the kitchen, Beck looked down at me and nudged me in the shoulder.
Midnight Chat
I sighed as I felt Tori knee my thigh again and I carefully, to not wake the teen curled close to my side, got up. I tiptoed over Cat’s body and quietly passed the lounge which Trina was sleeping on. I didn’t notice Trina’s eyes open or her attention follow me as I headed up the stairs. I silently slipped through the door and into the familiar room of my soulmate.
“Fuck…” I cursed as I paced back and forth on the fluffy carpet of her room. “Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!” I didn’t notice Trina peek around the door as I continued my swearing rant and my pacing. “Why does she have to do that?” I asked myself as I stopped my pacing and stared at the ceiling with my fists clenching periodically and my eyes closed. I sighed after a moment before glancing over at the clock “1am, good I’ll be back before she awakes and finds me gone.” I thought out loud before I allowed my human skin to fade, before stretching my tired limbs. My ear twitched at the soft gasp I heard and after catching the elder Vega sister’s scent I sighed. ‘At least it wasn’t Tori.’ I thought before shaking my nape and starting for the window. Knowing the Elder was listening and knowing we had to talk, I voiced my destination. “I’ll spend afew hours at the park. That will settle my feelings.” With that said I slipped through the slightly ajar balcony door and leapt off the balcony. I landed softly in the garden and waited till I heard the front door open, the sound of Trina slipping on her running shoes followed and I sprinted out of the yard and towards the park, knowing she would follow.
I lay down on a tree branch towards the middle of the park and stared up at the moon as I waited for Trina to show up. It wasn’t long till I heard panting at the elder Vega’s voice.
“Jade? Jadelyn? Whoever you are, please come out.” I heard her call and I was about to jump down to greet her when 3 unfamiliar scents wafted through the air. ‘Shit!’ I thought as I jumped down and sprinted through the park to where I knew Trina was. I stopped in a bush just in time to see the three males surround her.
“What’s a pretty young thing like you doing out in an abandoned park, alone on a night like this.” One of the guys asked, presumably the leader and at Trina’s lack of response one of the others spoke up, shoving Trina towards the first from behind.
“He asked you a question.” The two lackys laughed as Trina quickly backed out of the arms she had fallen into before slowly retreating, not taking her eyes of either of the three approaching.
“Awe, Baby come back, I won’t hurt you.” The leader taunted and with one step forward I knew, by the spark of bravery that flashed through Trina’s eyes that she knew I was here.
“I’m warning you three, I’m not alone.” She said in a strong, albeit shaky voice.
“Ohh yeah, and who is your company tonight?” The third asked and I knew it was my cue to move.
“Only a wolf.” Trina’s confident voice shone as I stepped from the bushes and allowed a snarl to rip from my chest.
The three boys immediately spun around, backing up with their hands held out in a sign of peace. I moved with them easily positioning myself between Trina and her attackers. My snarl grew when they stopped and I allowed my hackles to rise, lifting my tail high and curling back my lip in a threatening gesture. Without a word the three boys fled the park and I turned to look up at Trina who was looking at me with fascination. We stared at eachother for a moment before I looked down at my paws, scratching at the dirt.
“I realize we have a lot to talk about…” I started not missing her jump at my actually speaking in my wolf skin. “And I promise to explain everything, but I just need you to know straight up that I mean no harm to you or your sister. I would protect either of you with my life.” My ears cocked back and I closed my eyes, awaiting her rejection but all I got was a hand, slightly harder than Tori’s soft palms, pressed between my ears in an affectionate gesture.
“Alright, but how about we start with your name and what you are?” She asked softly and I nodded, I lead her over to a park bench and sat down on the table facing her as she took the seat before me.
“First off I am Temporal Alpha Jadelyn of the Makai pack. I am the daughter of Temporal Alpha Discord and his Soulmate Revari. I am what is known by all as a Temporal Wolf, an elite creature amongst our fellow animals, like your President or Governor is over you humans.” I paused awaiting recognition to cross her eyes and she nodded.
“I have heard of your kind, father said that Temporal Wolves Alphas represent the nation alongside our Govenors and Presidents. The Alpha Female taking care of the political side and the Alpha Male taking care of the physical side, while the rest of the pack governed the individual states within the packs nation and that at one time there was a pack of Temporal Wolves in each nation, speaking for the wild with no voice. He said that an altercation happened many years ago, that one of the Temporal Alpha’s disagreed with the President and that the Alpha badly wounded the human. After which all Temporal wolves were driven from human society and Banished, Wanted, killed on site.” Trina said confused as she looked me in the eyes.
“What you speak of is true… You see” I started as I looked towards the moon which was starting to grow a pink sheen to it. “Back in 1892, My seventh grandfather, A Temporal Alpha name Zatek had not long found his soulmate when the position of Alpha was thrust upon him following the death of my eighth grandfather, Rajah. Everything was going well until one council meeting. It was this same day, the 28th day of the July Moon when the president suggested expanding his city out into the neighboring forest. Zatek rejected the idea immediately as at that time the forest was where our pack resided and Zatek’s mate was close to birthing Suroa, My sixth grandfather. The president would not see reason and kept insisting that the humans were more important than the animals, saying that they needed more room for those who had money for bigger houses and more places to shop and other material things you humans love so much.” I snorted but looked down at my feet sadly. “The president started the fight, he called his guards to have Zatek escorted back to the forest, but before he allowed the guards to take him back he stopped and vowed to stop the president’s plan from going though. As he turned to leave on his own the president gave a silent order and one of the guards shot him in the back of the head. The guards dumped his body in the forest for the Temporal sentry’s to find and our pack fled their land, coming to live secretly in the woods just outside these forests. We have been in hiding ever since. All others of our kind have been hunted down and slaughtered, and a betrayal in the ranks killed my pack. Now it’s only us left.” I said sadly and Trina looked at me confused.
“Us?” She asked, I hadn’t meant to use the plural, not wanting to give away their identities but it would be easier if the humans we resided with knew who we were.
“I…” I sighed before looking her in the eyes. “Beck Oliver and Cat Valentine.” Was all I said and Trina looked shocked. “Cat, also known as Temporal Sentry Caterina of the Makai pack, is the daughter of Temporal Sentry Taiyo and his Soulmate Kuta. Beck, or Temporal Beta Beckett of the Makai pack, s the son of Temporal Beta Koski and his Soulmate Neema. He is also my betrothed…” I said, finishing off softly and Trina looked shocked before sadness sheened her eyes.
“So Beck… Beckett is your soulmate?” She asked and her eyes filled with confusion when I shook my head. “But you said…”
“Beckett Is my betrothed because we were the only two high standing pups left and my father wanted to keep a strong bloodline as we are almost extinct. Beckett is not my soulmate, infact his soulmate is actually Caterina. I had intended to back down during our bonding ceremony on the night of the Temporal Moon and refuse to bond with him, but I didn’t get the chance. The night Tori found Beckett and I was the same day our pack was wiped out. Beckett, Caterina and I were resting by the waterhole while the other pack pups played in and around the cool water. Beckett’s mum, Neema and my mother, Revari were watching over us. The day was tense and the pups had been ordered out of the den. Caterina’s older sister, Fawn had gone missing two moons previous and the males had been working hard to find her. The search group consisting of my father, Discord, Beckett’s father, Koski, and Caterina’s fathers, Taiyo and Kuta. Which left the females to hunting and pup-sitting. Fawn had struck out of nowhere, she had wound up a large pack of thirty odd wolves and had attacked the den. The pack didn’t stand a chance, with all but two of the females gone and the only males distracted, all the pups, discluding Caterina, Beckett and myself were killed before we could react. Neema and my mother fought off the wolves valiantly and by the time Father and the males got to the fight, Neema was already dead and mother was severely wounded. By the time they had fought the wolves down to just five, Father was suffering from a huge wound on his side and a one of his tails had been ripped off and Koski was fighting with two broken legs. Father told us to run and I took off, leading my two friends out of danger. I knew father would lose, so we had to make good on the time he and Koski had spared us. We weren’t even halfway through the forest when the paws started to follow us. Without us noticing Cat slipped away and we managed to make it to the forests edge. Her howl broke through the forest as we entered the human settlement and our only option was to hope that she was strong enough to get away. Due to the time of night, we were less cautious and more worried about finding somewhere to hide, due to this carelessness I didn’t see Tori till she was right infront of me. Beckett had changed to his human skin and had almost gotten us away when Tori insisted that we stay for afew nights till we find somewhere to stay… She fed us, let us use the spare room and you know the rest.” I finished and Trina nodded before looking down at my paws, inches away from her hand.
“It’s hard to believe that you are actually Jade.” She whispered patting my paw lightly before scratching under my chin. “I would never have guessed you and Jadelyn were one in the same.” She sighed before resting her chin on her hands. “So have you found your soulmate yet? Father explained some things to me about Temporal Wolves. He said that once a year, on the 30th rising of the July Moon, the moon rises a blood red color. During this small window of time is when the new generation of Temporal Wolves are born, thus this day is called the Temporal Moon. Instead of aging to full maturity within 24 months like the common wolves, Temporal Wolves do not reach full maturity until 21 Temporal Moons, which allows their human skin to go through the natural stages of growth, unhindered. Unlike regular wolves, they live by a strict routine. They all breed, reproduce and age at the same time. The Temporal wolves reproductive systems are designed so they can only fall pregnant during the November Moon, this allows the pup/s 8 to 9 months of growth before it is birthed on the night of the Temporal Moon. Male Temporal Wolves are able to conceive as well as Same-Sex soulmate as the Temporal Wolves are conceived through blood not the normal means. They are not able to reproduce until they reach full maturity at the age of 21 Temporal Moons, however they reach sexual maturity at the age of 18, just like their human skins.” Trina explained and I nodded.
“That is all true, a Temporal Wolf becomes sexually active around their 18th Temporal Moon and that is generally when they start looking for their soulmate with which they have 3 years to find he or she before it is time for the couple to conceive their first pup. Soul mates are generally hard to find, so most of us will take a companion until we find our Soul mate and others will wait. Beckett and Caterina are lucky that they were born of the same pack…”
“And what of your soul mate? It’s the 28th of the July Moon the Temporal Moon is only 2 and abit days away, and you said you’re turning 18 this year.” Trina questioned and I cocked back my ears, staring off to the side.
“I have already found my soulmate, but we can never be together.” I explained and Trina looked confused.
“May I ask who it is?” Trina asked tentatively and I sighed.
“You already know… But Fawn is still loose and if I so much as spoke to Tori in anyway regarding a relationship I’m afraid of what Fawn may do to her. Fawn knows who we are and what we look like, we know nothing of her human skin…” I voiced my fear and Trina looked at me with sympathy.
“But why haven’t you told Tori that you’re both her friend and her loveable wolf?” Trina questioned and I shook my head before looking back to the moon.
“I can’t control my feelings around her, the closer we get to the Temporal Moon the more intense the need to rut is becoming. If I give in and start a relationship with her, she is in grave danger, but if I keep her at arm’s length, or even further away then she is safe.” I explain and Trina nods before standing up, gesturing that we should head back to the house, I allowed my human skin to take control and followed beside her. “Also, you need to remember that while I am Human I am Jade and when I am a wolf I am Jadelyn. Beck and Cat are who they are, Cat has obviously hidden her furry side from Tori and I don’t want to expose Beck either.” I informed and Trina smiled.
“Alright… So what forced you from the house anyway?” Trina asked with curiosity and I shrugged.
“Tori’s foot kept nudging me in the thigh, it was driving me nuts.” I laughed and she joined in.
We both managed to slip into the lounge room without waking Tori or Cat and as I lay back down beside my best friend and my soulmate the latter curled up against my side, I felt my heart rate pick up and a smile crossed my lips.
Temporal Moon
Two more nights had passed since my talk with Trina in the park about Cat, Beck and myself. The elder Vega looked at them in a different light but the two seemed oblivious, more focused in each other than anything else the closer the Temporal Moon came. Despite being shocked that our birthdays were all on the same day, Tori insisted on throwing us a party. So here I sat, Tori on one side, Trina on the other and Andre on the couch across from us. Tori had been saddened that Cat and Beck were spending the day together and that they had taken Jadelyn with them. We had been playing card games, watching TV and talking all day and the three of us were tired. Andre looked like he was about to fall asleep and Trina jumped up, volunteering to take him home. They quickly left and that left me alone with Tori who was again curled up into my side as she watched the TV. The hour of my birthday was rapidly approaching and with it my sexual scent began to pike. I had felt both Cat and Beck’s Scents pike throughout the day signaling their births passed but I was the youngest of the three of us and my birth was still an hour away. I had been sitting there for another half an hour before Tori’s hot breath against my neck started to get to me and I could feel my body reacting. I sighed before nuzzling into Tori’s hair and mumbling.
“Come on Tori, you need to get up and head to bed.” I hear her murmur a no as she buried her nose into my neck and I chuckled. “Your bed is calling you.” I teased and a content whine came from the younger girl.
“M cmtable rgt ere.” She nuzzled deeper into my skin and licked lightly at my neck before sighing and settling again. I blushed at her action before sighing myself, resigning myself to sleeping here with Tori, I lay myself down and almost immediately, the younger Vega molded around my body. So her face was pressed into my neck, her arms were tucked between our chests and our legs were intertwined together. Before I could comment about her way of getting comfortable a soft snore reached my ears and I looked down at the brown locks fondly, slipping into slumber myself.
I knew immediately when my birth had past, I was awoken by a hot flush which shot throughout my body making ever inch of me tingle with sexual desire. As carefully and quietly as possible I slipped from beneath Tori, and after making sure that she was re-settled without me I shifted skins and ran for the door. It opened just as I reached it and I brushed past Trina’s legs.
“Jade what is it?” She called after me and I panted out two words as I ran from the house.
“Temporal Moon.” I heard the Vega’s door shut after my departure and quickly made my way to the park. I knew the moment Cat and Beck’s scents spiked that Fawn would know I was hiding here and my scent would no doubt lead her straight to me.
I skidded into the park just as she found me and I could only sit down as she circled me in that superior way of hers, I had to be cautious, this Temporal Moon was Fawn’s 21st, and by the smell of her she had already past her birth and hit full maturity. If we fought tonight, I would be severely disadvantaged, she was older, more skilled and I was distracted by my soulmates scent, which I could still smell, even at such a distance.
“Jadelyn, you have eluded me so since our last encounter, but I knew you would come of age this Temporal Moon, and you, such an… inexperienced pup would never have been able to hide such a spike in your scent. It was all too easy for me to find you.” Fawn chuckled before she moved, circling me, examining me. She licked her maw before frowning. “This scent surrounding you, your new spike hides it well but it’s there.” She stopped before me and looked at me with contemplative eyes, she raised a wolfey brow before turning her back to me, her tail flicking beneath my neck in a sexually provocative gesture I remember from my younger days. “I’ll just have to keep a close eye on you, when I find out who this scent belongs to, I’ll rip them apart.” She said so nonchantly as if she was talking about the weather and I couldn’t contain the snarl at her threat. She stops to glance back at me. “So it is another wolf huh, a pack mate that survived, a companion, your soulmate.” As my neutral expression faded to unrestrained anger, hidden beneath my raised lip and risen hackles she knew her final guess was right. “Well you know what they say, when one loses their soulmate their life becomes worthless. I’ll deal to this Soulmate the moment I know of their identity.” She growled before turning and heading to leave the park, I couldn’t restrain my body as I lunged for her but before my fang’s even grazed her fur, she had me on my back, my shoulder slashed a good few inches, her fore-claws digging into my tender stomach and her jaw around my neck. My head had hit the ground with the force of her body weight and I was completely dazed. I whined submissively, ears flattened when she snarled and when she was satisfied with my gesture, she backed off me and left. I sighed before limping from the park, I knew she wouldn’t follow me, there would be no Hunt, no Sport involved. So with the knowledge that she wouldn’t try until at least tomorrow, I headed straight for the Vega’s. Stumbling up the pathway only two of my four legs useable, whilst leaving a blood trail in the grass was certainly a site for anyone who passed me. Not that I could focus on them, the blood trailing down my forehead from my head wound was starting to fill my eyes.
I don’t know how long it was but I had finally reached the Vega’s front door and I barely had enough energy to allow my Human skin to take over. With only one usable leg and intensified pain, I cried out and fell against the door, before slumping to the ground in a heap Jade, with the addition of my now tattered clothes and the bouts of blood spilling from various places over my body. I must have fallen unconscious because the next thing I know Tori is shaking me awake while still holding me upright.
“Jade… Please you need to wake up, I need your help.” Tori whispered, brushing afew bloody strands of hair from my face, my eyes fluttered open and I looked into her beautiful brown orbs flooded with tears and her reaction to seeing my eyes open made me smile till I yelped when she held me too tightly in her enthusiastic hug. She immediately pulled back before smiling softly. “Sorry.” She whispered before she whipped her thumb over my cheek, to which I noticed she was wiping away some of the blood. “I need you to help me, I need to bathe you so I can dress your wounds.” She explained and knowing what she meant, I blushed as arousal flushed my body full force at the fact that she would see me naked. All I could do was nod as she helped me to my feet and started undoing the ties and buttons of my clothing till I was down to my Bra and Panties. Tori hesitated, and I glanced up at her, my good arm crossed just beneath my bra to hold onto my injured arm. She reached forward for the clasp at the front of my bra but stopped and met my eyes. “It would be easier if I removed all of your clothing but if you are more comfortable with this on, then that is fine also.” She said reluctantly and I smiled softly before raising my good hand and undoing the clasp on the bra myself.
It fell open still held on by my arms and while avoiding my eyes, Tori helped me pull the straps over my injured limb. She then knelt down and slowly lowered my panties careful of my broken leg, and once I was completely naked she helped me sit back down on the toilet seat. It was then that I noticed that the bath was running. Tori felt the water before nodding to herself and turning off the taps, she then moved back over to me and helped me over to the bath before taking my weight as I stepped in and slid down so I was sitting in the water. I hissed as the warmth bathed my gashes, cuts and grazes but the soothing hand rubbing my shoulder calmed me down quite abit.
“Thankyou for this… Tori.” I managed to grind out through my gritted teeth and I heard a soft sigh.
“What happened?” Was Tori’s response and I looked down. “You were gone when I woke up, I was so worried about you…” I sighed at her words.
“I needed some air and went for a walk in the park… In the darkness I couldn’t see who or what had attacked me but I barely got away.” I lied and Tori looked at me with sad eyes.
I wasn’t sure if she could tell if I was lying or not but she just nodded and picked up the soft sponge Cat had insisted I get her as a gift. She lifted my good arm and used the soapy water, now slightly pink to lightly wash away the dirt and blood the scuffle had left on my skin. She moved about quickly and thoroughly but softly and carefully, until she had cleaned all my cuts and scrubbed every inch of me clean, she was too busy with her task to even blush when she cleaned my breasts or when her hands brushed lightly over my sex, her fingers scraping lightly over my folds before her hand moved onto a different area. By the end of my bath Tori had changed the water three times, I was flushed red and Tori seemed satisfied with a job well done. She stood and moved away to grab something from the sink and I tried to even my breathing, I could already tell the Temporal Moon had taken its leave and the July Moon had returned for its last day of the year. What I was feeling wasn’t coming from my wolf but from my own desire to have Tori as my own. I found it a lot easier to suppress and soon the red flush had left my body completely. Tori returned to empty the bath for a final time before she held out both her hands for me to take. I placed my good hand tentatively in hers in a carefully swift and mostly painless motion Tori had me upright and my naked body pressed against her scantily clad one. She pulled me closed if that were possible and slid her arm beneath my knees, careful of my broken leg before lifting me bridal style and walking from the bathroom. We were in her bedroom a moment later and she set me down on her clean sheets before running from the room again. This time when she returned it was with a towel which she softly used to dry me before setting it to the side and opening the small cabinet beside her bed. She retrieved a first aid kit and rummaged through it pulling out a whole bunch of stuff that she had seen both Tori and Cat use as well as some things she didn’t recognize. After cleaning patching and bandaging all that was needed Tori packed away the kit. Mentally noting that was a broken leg, a shallow gash on the forehead, shallow and deep holes on either side of her neck and a large, deep gash down her arm. Again Tori ran from the room only to return with a cup of water and two small white pill which I quickly swallowed before handing the glass back. Tori set it on the bedside table before. She moved around the room gathering cloths that would fit me, which ended up being sweat pants and a tank top, before helping me dress and laying me down on her bed, pulling the covers over my body. She climbed in beside me and curled up against me, careful of my injuries before burying her face into my good shoulder.
“You rest up now, I’ll look after you.” She whispered and before I could respond she was lightly snoring and I felt content.

I rolled around restlessly on the floor of my bedroom, my tails swishing in irritation. Something wasn’t right, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I knew who ‘Ponnie’ was. Not long after Beck and I had taken on our human guises, we came across Tori, Cat and Andre. Three teens that attended the school we had chosen. At first I thought something was wrong, because I would always get flustered around Tori and I felt an overwhelming need to protect her, then I realized what was wrong. My human guise was infatuated with the teen and my wolf recognized her as my mate. I had mentioned my… issue to Beck and he had explained to me that he felt he same way for Cat. However both Tori and Cat were already in relationships, Cat with Andre and Tori with a guy named Rider.
None of us had believed Tori that day about ‘Ponnie’ due to her rundown, but still beautiful appearance, saying it was a hallucination due to her lack of sleep. After Tori’s plan the next day, we assumed everything was fine. Fawn was in custody and Tori was safely on her way home. It was later that night… I was kicking myself in my room for not believing Tori and for allowing her to be in danger when my phone rang. It was Cat, I answered it expecting to hear her cheerful voice but her first words were spoken in a very serious manner.
“Jade, are you at home?” I sat up straight, knowing something was wrong.
“Cat, whats going on?" I asked and at Cat's silence, I began to grow worried. After a moment Cat's voice flowed down the line.
"Jade, you need to head over to the Vega's place.” Cat’s voice was completely serious and I couldn’t understand why I would need to go over to the Vega's unless somethign was wrong with Tori.
"What's happened Cat, is Tori ok?" I asked, voice shaky and Cat sighed.
“You know what happened today?” She asked and at my grunt of acknowledgement Cat continued. “Tori never made it home. Trina was dropped off, she said that the officer who had driven them home had said that Tori had to go down to the station to answer some questions and the squad car had left. It wasn’t until last hour that Mrs Vega called to check on her and they said Tori was never at the station, the squad car that had taken the Vega’s home was also missing.” Cat halted her words and I could tell there was something she wasn’t saying.
“What aren’t you telling me Cat?” I asked sternly and she whined slightly, not in a childish way but in a distraught way.
“Fawn got away… Mr Vega thinks she may have hi-jacked the squad car that was to take Tori and Trina home, as all of their officers are accounted for.” Cat explained and my body froze up, I instantly understood the situation.
Fawn was free, Tori was missing and the only thing linking to both their whereabouts is the missing squad car.
“Don’t worry Cat, I’ll bring her home.” I responded in a hushed whisper at the sound of the youngers crying. “I’ll find her.” I promised before hanging up and throwing on a light set of clothes. I then sprinted up the steps and burst through the door, not bothering to lock it. I threw myself into the driver’s seat of my car and started it up.
I did the fifteen minute trip to the Vega’s in five minutes flat an before my car had even came to a stop by the Vega’s driveway I wrenched up the handbrake and jumped from the car. My body protested at the sudden movement but I ran up to the door and banged on the wood, when the door finally opened, I noticed my hands were shaking. I felt relieved when Trina opened the door.
“Jade, thank god!” The elder Vega yelled before tugging me in and shutting the door.
Only three people know of my feelings for Tori, Beck, Cat and of all people Trina. The elder Vega had been surprisingly accepting of my feelings and had even a few times, tried to convince me to tell Tori. Despite her annoying personality and her talentless voice Trina was a good person and I knew she cared deeply for Tori despite all their fighting.
“Mum and Dad are out looking. I’m glad Cat got a hold of you, please you have to find her.” Trina all but begged the moment the front door had closed.
“Anything you could give me that would help?” I asked and Trina’s eyes glazed for a second before she pulled a golden locked from beneath her clothes.
“Dad got both me and Tori one when we got into Hollywood Arts. The tracking device in them doesn’t pinpoint our exact position but it does tell of our rough location. Tori’s still in LA, Fawn hasn’t taken her out of the area.” Trina said and I nodded before heading for the door. “Jade!” Trina yelped and I stopped, I glanced back at her and Trina was looking down at her hands. “My cellphone fell out of my handbag while I was in the squad car, it was beneath the driver’s seat at Tori’s feet. I don’t know if it will be any help though…” She said.
“Alright, you stay here, I’ll do my best.” I said before sprinting from the house and jumping into my car, I hooked up my phone and dialed Trina’s number before resting my phone on the dashboard and starting off down the street. “Come on Tori, I know you’re not just talented and pretty, use that brain of yours.” I muttered as I drove down the street listening to the line ringing. I slammed my fists into the wheel and redialed when there was no answer. “Answer the fucking phone!” I yelled in anger and sighed in relief when the phone picked up on the third ring. I didn’t say anything incase Fawn might hear and I didn’t get any words from the other end but I could hear the sound of the squad car driving along and a voice humming ‘Finally Falling’, I could tell right away that it wasn’t Tori’s voice so it must be Fawn. I heard a scraping noise as if the phone was being dragged and the sounds became clearer. “Good girl.” I commented, eyes flitting to the phone before back to the road. I could tell she had flipped the phone over so that the speaker was no longer covered, it got me more sound but it also means I have to be more careful about the amount of noise I make. And then I heard it, her voice.
“Fawn…” Tori’s voice called tentatively and the humming stopped to make way for a grunt. “Are we just going to keep trailing around town square or did you kidnap me for a reason?” She asked and I smiled before wrenching the steering wheel and cutting across three lanes before taking a sharp turn and heading for the center of town. My hands clenched around the steering wheel when I heard the sound of skin on skin through the phone.
“What did I tell you about saying our location?” Fawn’s harsh voice growled and I heard a soft noise of apology come from Tori. “Give me your phone.” I hear shuffling and another grunt before everything went quiet, then I heard Fawn talking.
“Good evening Mr Vega, are you missing a daughter?” I heard Fawn’s voice taunt and it was closely followed by Tori’s distressed whine. “No, the dear is fine. She’s been very compliant with my needs thus far.” Fawn chuckled before releasing a moan and I couldn’t tell if it was real or fake. “Oh I don’t need to lay a hand on ‘Your little girl.’ The princess is doing all the work on her…” Another moan. “Own.” I was relieved to hear a soft growl throughout the words, even if Tori was causing Fawn’s moans, she didn’t approve of what she was doing and that gave me even just alittle relief. “No you cannot talk to her, that delectable mouth is busy.” Fawn chuckled, and silence filled the car. “It must be frustrating huh, you know we are still in the area, yet we still haven’t crossed paths. Aren’t you wondering how that is so, Detective Vega?” I heard Fawn asked in a smug voice before silence followed. “There, now your father knows what a dirty slut you are.” Fawn commented and Tori whimpered.
I was seething, silently screaming and cursing Fawn as I sped down the street. I heard a screech on the other end of the phone.
“Get out Victoria.” Fawn said before a car door opened and I head a thump before the sounds dulled again. I smiled softly at the sounds of Tori’s boots clicking against pavement and sped up. I heard the sound of a window shattering before two doors opened. “Get in.” Fawn growled and I heard the clicking of what I assumed was hand cuffs. “Can’t have you signaling anyone out the window now.” I heard Fawn’s muffled voice before the doors shut and an engine revved. There was a tussle before the sounds became clear again. It was quiet for about ten minutes before I heard a screech.
“Fucking shit!” I heard Fawn shout before the car door was wrenched open. “Don’t you dare move, or you will regret it!” She commanded before the door was slammed shut and her footsteps quickly disappeared.
Instantly I heard shuffling followed by a yelp and heavy breathing.
“Hello, who’s there?” Tori called softly and my heart skipped a beat.
“It’s me.” I said and I felt better hearing her voice.
“J-Jade? Thank god!” Tori’s uncertainty was overshadowed by her sheer relief and I could tell she was sobbing.
“Where are you?” I asked quickly as I screeched around a corner, heading through town square.
“She doubled back, ditched the squad car and stole a black car, were at the 76 service station just down the road from school.” She said taking in deep breaths to calm her breathing.
“Good girl.” I said softly as I changed course and sped through the streets towards the school. It was silent for a couple moments before Tori’s timid voice sounded.
“Jade…” She whispered and I frowned, knowing what she was going to bring up.
“I know Vega, I have no clue where your father is but I’m coming.” I said reassuringly and I heard her sigh.
“I’d never…” She went to say but I cut her off.
“I know…” I whisper before adding words that stabbed into my heart. “I’ll get you back to Rider, as unscathed as possible.” I promise and I heard Tori gasp before a loud thump.
“Tori!” I cried out worried she’d been caught but the sound of the car door and Fawn’s less annoyed voice told me she was safe.
“So now we’re off again, and you decide if this is our final destination or not Victoria.” Fawn said in a smug voice then I heard plastic wrapping and Tori gasp.
“Please no…” She whimpered and Fawn chuckled I couldn’t hold in the growl that bubbled from my throat at Tori’s distress and I had to bite down on my lip to avoid voicing my displeasure. I listened to their conversation, seething silently as I drove.
“I’ve had my eye on you for quite a while Vega. Rider was a good cover but don’t think I couldn’t see where you’re… Eye’s really lye.” I heard Tori gasp and I was confused by Fawn’s words. “I will admit, you have good taste, but your mine, not hers.” The final word was said with so much venom that I flinched. “I’m glad you took the threat in my note seriously.” Fawn said offhandedly and I heard Tori growl.
“You sent that note? How dare you threaten her! I don’t know what fixation you have on me but she has nothing to do with this!” Tori yelled and I was shocked by her outburst. Who were they talking about?
“That bitch has everything to do with this, your mine! She’s not an issue right now though, when I told you to keep her at arm’s length I didn’t mean jump into bed with a guy, mine means mine, no one else’s!”
“I’d never sleep with that bastard and how the hell was I supposed to know who I had to stay faithful to, you threaten me away from my girl and didn’t even give me a name!” I heard Tori yell and I felt a spark of pride overshadow the hurt I felt at the possessiveness in her words. A loud smack sounded and I heard Tori growl again but she didn’t say anything.
“Your feelings are irrelevant, I shouldn’t have needed to give you a name!” Fawn yelled and the car lapsed into silence. I anxiously awaited another word but it was quiet, I thought I’d been hung up on or the phone had died when Fawn spoke again. “Perhaps your co-operation would come easier if I told you one of my guards has been tailing your girl since I got you in my possession.” Fawn said and the noise that fell from Tori’s throat was one I didn’t recognize, but if I had to guess, it strongly resembled that of a rabid animal.
“Back the fuck up, you’ve got me, do whatever you want just leave her out of this.” Tori practically snarled and silence followed.
“Very well.” Fawn said before a buzz sounded. “Roku, let her be.” The moment the words left Fawn I saw a car in my rearview mirror turn off and do a U-turn. I know it’s just a coincidence but I couldn’t help the spark of hope that wished, I was Tori’s girl. My attention was pulled back to the phone when Fawn spoke again. “I’m glad you said that Tori, because we are here.” She chuckled and Tori whimpered. I heard the doors open again before the sound of handcuffs jingled and I heard Tori’s boots again. I heard keys before a door was pushed open and Tori yelped. It was quiet for a moment before Tori gasped. “Lay down on the fucking table.” Fawn snarled and Tori whined but I heard shuffling and the clank of metal against metal.
“Is it really necessary to tie me down?” Tori asked softly and Fawn chuckled before I heard five clicks.
“Yes, I can see it in your eyes, I’m going to have to force you to enjoy this so it’s going to hurt for the first few minutes.” I tensed at her words, grinding my teeth together as I continued to drive, no idea where I need to go. I heard cloth ruffle before Fawn spoke. “One boot.” More ruffling and I heard the phone clatter to metal. “Two boots and a phone.” Fawn seemed amused by the discovery. I heard Tori gasp and whine in pain. “So who has been listening to our conversation, which of your friends has found out your darkest secret hum Tori?” Fawn taunted, I bit my tongue to keep myself quiet and I heard the shred of material and a yelp. “One shirt.” Fawn chuckled and I felt my mouth flood with my own blood. More shredding, another yelp. “A pair of pants.” I heard the phone make contact with the metal before Fawn spoke again. “Open your fucking mouth.”
“No don’t, you ca…” Tori’s voice was cut off by a cry of pain. I flinched and had to pull off to the side of the road.
“Much better, oh baby, you have such a beautiful body.” A slap of flesh and a muffled yelp followed by a snap. “One bra.” Fawn said smugly, I had to cover my ears as I heard Tori’s muffled cry. “What’s the matter baby, don’t like it rough?” Fawn asked and Tori just whined in pain. “Spread your legs.” Fawn demanded and a muffled no came from Tori before she howled in pain. “That’s it baby.” One more shredding sound and the phone was picked up again. “One pair of panties.” Fawn chuckled into the receiver. “Is this turning you on mysterious listener?” Fawn questioned and a clunk was heard before Tori whimpered and I could hear her thrashing against the binds that kept her where she was. “I bet you’re really wet right now.” Fawn commented and I could tell it was directed at Tori even though she said it into the phones receiver. “Let’s see how much of this we can fit in that tight virgin pussy of yours.” I could hear muffled ‘No’s and ‘fuck off’s from Tori as the thrashing sounds continued. I could feel tears falling down my cheeks, I felt so useless, I can’t do anything to help and I can’t hang up because if I do, I won’t know if she is still alive or not. I whimper at the sounds of Tori’s distress and flinch at the sound of a moan and a clip. “Oh god, that feels so good inside me, don’t worry babe, your side is much bigger. Fawn said and I heard scraping and thumping before it went quiet. “Now, mysterious listener. I am going to fuck this bitch senseless, when I am done she will have two choices, she can come with me and live, or choose her slut and die right on this table. Now I’m a fair person so I’m going to give you a chance should her choice not be me. Once I have made the incision you will have twenty minutes to get here or she will bleed out. I say it won’t take long to have her screaming my name, so I will give you thirty minutes tops if you want to save Victoria Vega.” I had to cover my head at the ear-splitting scream that Tori released before the phone went dead. I cried uselessly into my arms in the silence of my car and jolted when my phone vibrated, I picked it up to see a message.
‘You horney fuck, it turned you on hard listening didn’t it. This bitch is the best lay I’ve ever had, I didn’t know virgins bled so much their first time. Anyway, your thirty minutes has started, should she choose her bitch over me you will find her in the Steel shed just past the basketball court in Bel Aire Park. Good luck.’
“Bel Aire Park, roughly a forty minute drive from here. Shit!” I threw the car into drive and sped off down the street, barely avoiding hitting a van. My hands shook as I scrolled through my contacts and I clicked on a number I thought I’d never use. The phone rang for two chimes before an anxious female voice responded.
“Hello?” I could hear the pain and worry laced through the greeting.
“Mrs Vega, its Jade West.” I responded and I heard her let out a soft sigh before Mr Vega spoke.
“What can I do for you Jade, if you haven’t already heard, we are very busy right now.” He sounded almost annoyed, I can’t blame him.
“Mr Vega, I know where Tori is.” I say quickly as I screech around another corner, I’m already doing double the speed limit and still climbing. I smiled softly when I heard Tori’s mum respond in place of her father.
“Please Jade, where is she?” The desperate plea in her voice broke my heart.
“I’m heading there now, Fawn is holding her in a small shed, it’s located at Bel Aire Park.” I say and I honk my horn in response to another car, which I almost collided with around the corner. I heard Mrs Vega’s cries of relief and felt bad for what I had to say next. “I’m not going to lie to you, you’re her parents after all.” I said softly and I heard Mrs Vega’s relief fade, a pang of guilt shot through my chest.
“Tell us what you know dear.” She said softly and I sighed.
“I got a phone call from Cat telling me that Tori was missing, so I stopped by your house and spoke to Trina. Trina told me she had left her phone in the squad car and I figured I’d give it a go. Your daughter is a smart girl. I heard their conversation throughout the ride, including the one-side of Fawn’s talk with you. I can assure you Mr Vega, all her words were a lie. I was able to speak to Tori at one point while Fawn was out of the car, but it didn’t last long.” I heard the screeching of tires over the phone and could only assume the Vega’s were driving just as recklessly as me. “To jump to the point, Fawn has given Tori an option.” I choked on a sob before continuing. “Fawn has taken a… Liking to Tori in a physical sense, bordering on obsession. The two options are, Tori stays with Fawn and lives or she reject’s Fawn and Fawn will let her bleed out.” Jade heard a gasp on the other end and clenched her fists as she finished. “Before Fawn hung up on me, she… P-Penetrated Tori.” I sobbed out and swerved as tears clouded my vision. I heard Mrs Vega’s cry of anguish at her daughter’s pain and Mr Vega yelling, what I couldn’t tell. When the sounds calmed down Mrs Vega spoke again.
“H-How long do we h-have?” She asked and I glanced at the time on my phone.
“Just under 20 minutes at worst.” I respond and change gears as I cut in front of three cars, crossing over an island and skidding around another corner. At Mrs Vega’s sob I knew they weren’t near at all. “Where abouts are you?”
“We are only just passing the Valley Plaza Park.” Mr Vega said softly and I felt a stab of pain in my heart.
“I’m passing the school now.” I say as I skid around the corner and sped off down Third Street.
“Please, get to my baby. She would never willingly go with Fawn, and that means she’s already…” Mr Vega said and whined as I shifted up another gear, pushing my car to its limit.
“Please be ok…” I whisper, rubbing at the tear trailing down my cheek and I don’t get a response from the Vega’s. I know they are still on the phone though so as I screech around another corner, one more step closer to my girl I give them instructions. “I’m almost there, meet me at the medical center.” I hear an affirmative from the Vega’s before only the sounds of reckless driving could be heard.
I barely make the turn up the driveway and through the trees and I slam the breaks as I skid to a stop at the fence blocking off the basketball court. I could see the steel shed. I grasp the phone from my dashboard before throwing open my car door and sprinting across the court.
“I’m here.” I pant as my boots crunch down on the glass that littered the ground.
The Vega’s don’t respond but I can hear the relief in the way Mrs Vega’s breathing softened slightly. I ripped open the door before entering with caution. I wasn’t sure if Fawn had left or was just hiding. The moment I stepped inside I could hear Tori’s whimpers of agony. I approached the sound with caution and after confirming that the shed was void of all but Tori and I, I ran through the small expanse, flinching as the scent of blood hit me full force the moment I entered the room Tori was in.
“Oh baby…” I whine lightly as I brush her brown hair out of her closed eyes. She was unconscious but still releasing sounds of pain. I glanced down and flinched at the sight. No wonder she cried out so loudly. The dildo that was still inside of her to the hilt was wider then my wrist. The metal table around her lower half was covered in fresh blood, part of which was slightly diluted with what I assume is Fawn’s essence. The halter and dildo, half the size of the one in Tori was lying among the blood, still attached to the one buried in my love, I could see the small dildo coated in Fawn’s essence and I felt my anger peak. As gently as I could, I took hold of the dildo and slowly slid it out of Tori’s entrance. She thrashed weakly, whining in pain in her unconscious state as I retracted the painful object, once completely out, I tossed it off to the side and assessed the damage. I could tell most of the blood was from her tearing. My eyes traveled from her bloodstained thighs to the massive gash cut deep into her right hip, blood was still gushing out and I quickly pressured my hand over the wound. I could clearly see her hip bone through the muscle and tendons. “Mrs Vega!” I cried out and I heard the woman respond through the phone which was up by Tori’s head.
“Make sure they have the blood already set up, she is going to need it the moment I get there.” I said and I heard the mother sob before a yes came through the line. I couldn’t tell if the sob was joy that Tori’s still alive or pain over my words. I retrieved Tori’s pants, the only cloth I could reach without lessening the pressure on her wound and tied them around her waist as tightly as I could. I then pulled off my shirt and slid it over Tori’s head, the shirt covered a decent amount of Tori’s smaller body. I then wrapped my arm around her waist, resting my spare hand behind her head and slowly lifted her from the table. I adjusted her so her head was resting on my shoulder and my arms were wrapped beneath her legs and arms. I was barely able to grab my phone but once it was in my hand I quickly made my way out of the shed and back towards my car. I really didn’t want to put Tori down but I sat her in the front seat, buckling her in and made sure she was steady before I ran around the car and jumped in the driver’s seat. I then revved the engine and the tires screeched across the asphalt as I reversed back out onto the main road before heading in the direction of the hospital.
“Mrs Vega, are you still there?” I asked into the silence and it was a moment before she responded.
“We’ve just spoken to the doctor, everything will be ready the moment you get here. Please hurry dear.” The desperation in her voice worried me greatly and I glanced to Tori who was shaking and unconscious in my front seat and I felt fear wash over me.
“I’m coming…” I respond to Mrs Vega before my eyes flit back to Tori’s exposed self. “You’re gonna make it Vega, don’t you dare give up on me… You can’t…” I angrily brushed away the tears which had started to form before looking back down at the phone. I noticed it was about to die and cursed.
“Mrs Vega, my phone’s dying but I promise you, if it cuts out… I’m breaking a lot of speed and traffic laws to get there.” I assure her and as if confirming my words I cut through an intersection and skidded around a corner.
“Thankyou Jade, my girl is lucky to have you as a friend.” I heard her soft voice return and I wasn’t sure how to respond so I didn’t, I heard my phone beep and glanced to it. Mrs Vega had hug up. I quickly picked up my phone and switched it off before focusing on driving.
I kept my eyes on the road, flitting to Tori through the corner of my eye every so often and within 10 minutes I was skidding into the hospital car park. I drove more civilly up to the ambulance bay before wrenching up the brake and jumping from the car. I retrieved Tori from the front seat, holding her gently against my chest and lightly lowered my nose into her hair, when she nuzzled into my neck.
“We’re here now, everything’s going to be ok.” I whispered before slowly walking towards the entrance. I wanted to run but I didn’t want to cause her anymore pain now that she was at least semi-conscious.
The moment I was through the doors I heard a sorrowful cry, looking off to my left I saw Mrs and Mr Vega hurrying towards me, behind them Cat and Trina were seated in the waiting room.
“Ohh my baby.” Mrs Vega whispered, she held out her arms to take Tori from me and I instinctively pulled the younger closer to me, stepping back slightly. Mrs Vega looked at me with hurt and confusion at my action and I didn’t know what to do.
“I-I don’t think she should be moved around too much, It’s best if I hold her till she gets a bed.” I responded, trying to hide the shake in my voice.
Either it was because she believed me or saw the fear I was trying to mask in my eyes but she nodded her head and settled for brushing her hand through Tori’s brown hair. I glanced to Mr Vega who hadn’t said or done anything and noticed he was watching Tori and I with underlying curiosity. He rose his hand slightly and took a step closer and I wanted to smack myself when my arms instantly tightened around Tori in a protective manner. He lowered his hand and I was confused at the look of understanding in his sad eyes. Before I could say anything we were approached by the doctor who was closely followed by a sad Cat and a worried Trina.
CHAPTER 1
The blaring of my alarm drew me from the peaceful slumber that had taken over me. I rolled over to turn off the alarm before turning back and stretching my arm out across my bed. At the feel of a soft body beneath my sheets, my eyes fluttered open. For a moment a smile crossed my lips as my mind believed my dream was real and that it was her lying next to me, but at the site of the bright red hair fanned out over my spare pillow, my heart fell. Cat, now my sleep fogged mind cleared and I remembered what had happened the previous day.
I tricked Cat into letting me come with her to her mother’s boss’s house to pet sit his dog for the evening. Just about everything had gone wrong, the man’s antique guitar, his window got smashed, his glass coffee table had shattered and on top of it all, an earthquake hit just before he got home, which in a way was a relief because we got off with the excuse that the earthquake had caused all the damage. Beck and Robbie who had been called to help us repair the damage before the earthquake left after the man had made sure we were all ok. Things between Beck and I, despite the breakup were going good, we were good friend’s before we became a couple and the only reason why we did was because Beck couldn’t be with the girl he wanted and I wasn’t ready to ‘Come out.’. We broke up recently because I knew that Beck still had strong feelings for his love and I also had fallen for another. Cat had said goodbye to her mother’s boss before asking me if she could spend the night with me, because she didn’t want to be alone. I could tell the poor girl was distraught after everything that had happened so I agreed and drove us back to my house. Mum and Dad weren’t home like always so we just had something small to eat before I led her down into the basement, the whole underground floor being my room, and we went to bed.
I pulled my arm back from around Cat and shifted out of bed without waking her. We still had two hours to get to school, I always liked waking up early. I stretched as I crossed my room toward my private bathroom to relieve myself before heading upstairs and into the kitchen. I got myself a glass of water and leaned against the bench as I drank. My mind wondered to my most recent dream and I moaned softly as I felt myself growing wet at the memory. I took another sip of my drink before letting my eyes drift to the roof as I allowed the dream to flood my senses. A soft groan sounded from downstairs, jolting me from my daydream and I knew Cat had woken up. I glanced to the clock on the wall and was surprised to find I had been standing in the kitchen fantasizing about her for the past half-an-hour.
“Jadey?” The sleepy voice drifted up the stairs and I had to smile at the childish nickname she had given me.
“In here Kitten.” I called back as I placed my now empty glass in the sink, the sound of her soft footsteps drew nearer and I heard her pull one of the stool back from the bench to sit down. “Are you feeling any better this morning?” I asked softly as I turned and leaned on the bench opposite her.
“Better, Thankyou for letting me stay the night…” She said softly and I gave a small smile.
“Come on, we better get you home so you can get ready for school.” I said, collecting my keys from the bench before heading out the front door, Cat in toe.
After dropping Cat off at home and promising to see her later on at school I drove back home and headed straight to my bathroom. I still felt wet from earlier and as the steamy water from my showers massage head hit my body, I released a deep moan, lightly rubbing my hands over my naked flesh. I ran the tips of my fingers down through the valley of my chest, pinching my nipples and kneading the soft flesh of my breasts as I went. Lightly skimming my hands across my flat stomach, I combed my fingers through the neat thatch of black hair at the apex of my legs before lowering my fingers and lightly running them across my nether lips. I bit down on my lip trying to hold in the moan as I imagined her fingers instead of my own. I twitched my finger over my opening and couldn’t stop lightly moaning her name. I prodded my entrance lightly before dragging my finger’s back up to toy with my clit. Despite what most think about my relationship with Beck, due to us never really having feelings for eachother we never actually slept together and I was still a virgin. I circled a heavy pressure against my clit, palming my left breast with my free hand. It wasn’t long till I released my lip as I came on my fingers, freely moaning her name which echoed around the tiled bathroom. I rested my forehead against the shower wall, using my hands to steady myself while my legs regained their strength after my orgasm. When I trusted my weak stands to keep me upright, I pushed off the wall and began to clean myself, making sure to wash away all remnants of my orgasm before stepping out of the shower and pulling on my bathrobe. I dressed quickly before heading out to my car and driving to school.
I strode down the hallway, ignoring anyone who tried to talk to me and wasn’t very surprise to see Cat sitting on the floor by my locker. What froze me in place was the fact that Tori was sitting beside her, they were talking about something, both looking down at Cat’s Pearpad. Tori asked something and Cat shook her head before glancing around the hallway, her eyes lighting up when they landed on me. Tori noticed the look in Cat’s eyes and her attention turned to me too, my breath hitched as our eyes met and a smile crossed Tori’s face. The both of them stood up and I cautiously approached, alittle worried about the hidden smirk on Cat’s face. She really isn’t as ditzy as everyone believes and is actually quite devious when she wants to be. Just as I stopped before the two of them Cat, playfully tugged on Tori’s arm, jumping up and down with a huge Cat-like grin.
“Wish me luck!” She giggled in her hyper voice before bouncing off down the corridor.
“Good luck…” Tori called uncertainly just as Cat turned a corner, before her eyes shifted back to my own. A silence settled between us and I swear she could hear my heart thumping against my ribcage. I cleared my throat hoping to cut through the tension and she raised a perfect eyebrow before glancing behind herself. She quickly stepped to the side and I realized she was standing directly in front of my locker. A relieved sigh fell from me, annoyed sigh outwardly and I stepped forward to shift stuff between my bag and my locker. I noticed that Tori hadn’t left and my hand jittered slightly with nerves as I closed my locker and turned to her, one of my books clutched tightly across my body.
“What?” I asked in an annoyed tone and Tori looked down.
“I need a favor…” She said softly and I quirked my eyebrow.
“You need a what?” I asked, voice harsher then I meant and I internally scolded myself when she flinched back slightly.
“I need a favor…” She repeated again, just as soft before she rose her eyes to meet mine. “I wouldn’t bother you, but I don’t trust any of the guys with this, I’d prefer your help over Trina’s any day and Cat said that I was best off asking you...” She explained and I felt lightness swell in my chest, the rhythm of my heart adjusting to a mid-beat, what I assume Tori’s would be beating to.
“Then, I guess…” I responded thoughts of what she could never want running through my head, before I glared down at my hand at the thoughts. “What do you need?” I sighed and internally smiled at the grin that spread across her face due to me agreeing to help. She glanced around the crowded hall with a worried look in her eyes before looking back at me, she held out her arm jostling it alittle before me.
“It’s kind of private…” She said softly and I understood the arm outstretched towards me, I lightly grabbed her wrist and lead her towards the Janitor’s closet. I sat down on the bench against the far wall and Tori nervously scratched at her arm. Her actions were bothering me and I couldn’t stop the worry that flooded my voice at my next words.
“What’s wrong?” She looked up at me and even with the distance between us, I could see the tears forming in her eyes. I got off the table and closed the distance between us before using my thumbs to brush her tears from her cheeks. “Vega, what are the tears for?” I asked softly and was surprised when Tori’s arms wrapped around my neck and she pulled me into a hug. My arms snaked around her waist, hands intertwine against her lower back as she sobbed softly into my neck. I comforted her as best I could and when she pulled back, her sobs had stopped. I again brushed away her tears before resting my hands on her hips, holding her eyes once they met mind. I didn’t have to say anything, she knew my question and she would answer it when she felt she could.
We stood there, eyes locked for almost ten minutes before her eyes fell to the floor and a soft sigh fell from her lips. I didn’t have a clue what she would finally say but the words that fell from her lips were not what I expected.
“Fawn is back.” She whispered and a cold shiver ran down my spine, I could see she was shaking just at the mention of the crazy brunette. “She was tracked back to the area last night… Dad think’s she may have been at Nozu when Andre and I performed a song last night.” Tori explained and I gasped, Fawn got that close to Tori and wasn’t even noticed?
It was still at the forefront of my mind, what Fawn did to Tori. My thumb nuzzled under the hem of Tori’s shirt and brushed over the scarred skin of her right hip, Tori’s eyes slid shut at the touch.
Jadelyn, one of the four surviving Temporal wolves is run from her home along with Beckett, her ex-betrothed and Caterina, her best friend and Beckett's Soul Mate. When Caterina's older sister Fawn attacks their pack, killing everyone in her path, the three manage to escape when the remaining adults buy them a small amount of time. They become separated from Caterina during the escape when the younger doubles back to distract her bloodthirsty sister who was gaining ground. Jadelyn and Beckett enter human territory, while hoping Caterina had gotten herself to safety, to find a place to hide. However they are caught by a Victoria, a human teenager who Jadelyn discovers, after their instant connection, is her Soul Mate. Victoria takes them into her home, not allowing them to sleep on the streets and the two are re-united with Caterina the next day after finding out that the youngest's human skin is friends with Victoria.
Because Victoria found Jadelyn as her wolf self, whilst Beckett managed to switch to his human skin when the teen saw him, she fakes to be a sister to Caterina's human skin, allowing her human skin close quarters to her remaining pack mates and Soul Mate. Jadelyn, Beckett and Caterina hide within their human skins throughout the day, Jadelyn switching back to her wolf skin when night falls. Until the night of the Temporal Moon when the three young enter their Eighteenth Temporal Moon and hit sexual maturity. Fawn easily finds Jadelyn due to the spike in her scent and they 'meet' in the park near Victoria's residence. Jadelyn gets badly injured when she attacks Fawn for threatening her Soul Mate and Fawn leaves her bloodied body saying she would begin her hunt in a weeks time.
